Karun Nair roars back after a long wait of almost three years by smashing 89 runs out of 40 deliveries.

He last played in the Indian Premier League in 2022 for Rajasthan Royals; after that, he got his second chance yesterday, and he made the most of it.

On the other hand, Karn Sharma of the Mumbai Indians brought them back into the game from a crucial position, and later they won the match as well.

By winning the match, MI stopped the winning streak of the Delhi Capitals.

Match Details

The 29th match of the IPL was all set to be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi.

Axar Patel won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Mumbai Indians Innings

Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton opened the innings, and they both were seen timing the ball well.

Both of them were playing good cricket shots and making the most use of the powerplay.

Vipraj Nigam turned the game toward DC by taking Rohit’s wicket.

Kuldeep Yadav soon bowled Ryan, putting pressure on the MI squad.

Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma handled the innings from there and started a meaningful partnership.

Mukesh Kumar didn’t let them convert the partnership into a big one and took the wicket of Suryakumar.

Naman Dhir came to support Tilak; he completed his half-century, and Naman played a great knock at the end.

In the end, MI made up a total of 205 runs for the loss of five wickets.

Delhi Capitals Innings

DC was all set to chase down 200+ runs and become the first team to chase 200+ runs against Mumbai Indians.

Jake Fraser-McGurk and Abishek Porel opened the innings. Deepak, in the first delivery of the innings, took the wicket of Jake.

Karun Nair, getting his second chance in the IPL after almost three years, came in as the impact player.

He truly started to make an impact by playing a beautiful knock and soon even completed his half-century.

Wickets kept falling from the other end, and Karun kept on going from the other end.

Mitchell Santer bowled him and gave a bit of relief to MI, and Karn Sharma, on the other hand, took the wickets of KL Rahul and Tristan Stubbs.

MI was back in the game; in the 19th over, DC lost three consecutive wickets in the form of run-outs and lost the match by 12 runs.
