Sunil Chhetri has recently taken Indian football to another level and registered his name in the to-5 list of the highest active goalscorer in international football surpassing the star English footballer, Wayne Rooney to be at the fourth position. This happened when he scored his 54th goal for India earlier this month in a 1-0 win over Kyrgyzstan in a third-round game in the 2019 AFC Asian Cup qualifiers.
Whole of India stood together to congratulate the footballer for his great achievement. Also Gujarat Lions co-owner Keshav Bansal took to Twitter on Monday for this purpose. However, he ended up tweeting about the footballer being the fourth highest scorer in ‘runs’. Though he later deleted the tweet after he realised his mistake.
His tweet stated: “Let’s take a moment to talk about @chetrisunil11, the Indian footballer who has been ranked 4th in the world for scoring the highest runs.”
Twitteratti fdid not sapre Keshav on this mistake, and trolled him badly. And soon there were many memes trolling Bansal, going viral on different social media platforms.
