Indian shuttlers Kidambi Srikanth and B Sai Praneeth stood against each other in the quarter final of the Australian Open Super Series. And Kidambi Srikanth won the match booking his spot in the semifinal of the men’s singles event at the tournament, in Sydney, on Friday.

Earlier this year, Srikanth suffered a three-game defeat from Praneeth in the final of the Singapore Open Supreseries and now he overcame the latter in the quarterfinal, winning the match 25-23, 21-17 in straight games.

Match was tough for both of them as they know each others game in and out. Praneeth took an initial lead in the first game, but Srikanth made a comeback, to level the scores at 10-10. The two players further went on to draw level with each other at 12-12, and at 13-13.

Despite of  Praneeth hard fought game , Srikanth managed to maintain the lead over him, and finally openend his gate to reach the semi-finals.
