The Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) and Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) are now in a new dilemma as the Indian skipper Virat Kohli conveyed his “strong reservations” about head coach Anil Kumble. Kumble even after not being necessary has applied for the post of coach. Kohli on Saturday evening met the CAC members – Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman – together with BCCI’s acting secretary Amitabh Choudhary, CEO Rahul Johri and General Manager (cricket) Dr MV Sridhar in a meeting that lasted for around an hour.
According to a source,”Kohli is very clear about where he stands vis-a-vis Kumble. It seems the relationship is beyond the repair stage, at least from Kohli’s side. However, the CAC will now meet Kumble and see if a patch-up is possible.”
However, CAC will meet Kumble first. The source also said that Kumble’s record as a coach is very good and CAC has no good reason to remove him. And also what if Kohli has a problem with the next coach as well.
Also Ravi Shastri’s name is repeatedly coming in the race of the coaches though he has not applied for this post. But there are many people who want him as a coach.
