Indian star batsman and skipper, Virat Kohli has got 89th place in the list of Forbes Highest paid athletes with a total pay of USD 22 million. However, he is the only Indian to make it to top 100. The list it topped by football legend Cristianio Ronaldo having a total pay of 93 million dollars.
Forbes described Kohli as the “Indian cricket phenom”, and said that he is already drawing comparisons with legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar for all good reasons. Also Kohli has broken so many records and was declared captain of Indian Team in 2015 which is a great achievement at a young age.
Out of his total pay, that is, 22 million dollars $3 million comes from salary and winnings and another $19 million from endorsements.
After Ronaldo, American basketball star LeBron James secured the second spot with $86.2 million, followed by Argentina’s star footballer Lionel Messi (3) with 80 million , tennis star Roger Federer (4) with 64 million and American basketball player Kevin Durant.
