Marcelo Vieira da Silva Junior, known as Marcelo, is a Brazilian professional footballer who played for Real Madrid as a left-back.

Marcelo joined Madrid in 2007 during the January transfer window. Since then, he has been a part of the team. Sixteen long years came to an end as he said the final goodbye to the club.

Marcelo helped Madrid in lifting these trophies.

Marcelo ended his term at Madrid by lifting the fifth Champions League title. He was also a key figure in six Spanish League titles, three UEFA Super Cups, five Spanish Super Cups, two Copa del Reys, and most importantly, four Club World Cups.
In total, he won 25 trophies for the club, the maximum number of trophies ever lifted by any Madrid player in the history!
Real Madrid has lifted the UEFA Champions League Cup three times in a row. From the years 2015–18, which Marcelo was a part of.

International records

He was a part of the Brazil International football team that was declared the U-17 World Cup runner-up in the year 2005.
He also won a silver medal in the Summer Olympics in 2012 and a bronze medal in 2008.
He was a part of it when Brazil won the FIFA Confederations Cup in 2013.

Individual records

ESPN named him the Best Left-Back for the second year in a row, in 2017 and 2018.
In total, he scored 26 goals for Real Madrid.

Marcelo Praised Raul said, “You helped me a lot when I first arrived. I won’t forget how you gave us a gift and a lot of advice when my son Enzo was born. You were always very caring, you and your family, and I’ll never forget that. I always tried to follow your example.”

His Farewell Speech:

“Thanks to my teammates and coaches.” But above all, to the kit men, to the security, to the people who work behind the scenes and have dirty work. I want to highlight their work because I only dedicated myself to playing and I always had everything ready. I want to thank my wife because she has always been by my side since I started playing football. If I am what I am today, it is because of you, Clarice.
“When I left Brazil, I had in mind to play in the Champions League.” And today I leave here as the player with the most titles in the history of the biggest club in the world. ”
