In a warm up match played against Sri Lanka match at Queen’s Park, Chesterfield, India registered a big win of 109 runs. Skipper Mithali Raj scored 85 in 89 balls which proved to be a match winning knock. All the departments of the team look good before their first clash with.

India after winning the toss opted to bat first and made 275 with Mithali Raj, Poonam Raut, Smriti Mandhana scoring 85, 69 and 44 respectively. The team played all the 50 overs with 3 wickets remaining. After an impressive display of their batting skills, it was time for the Indian team to defend 275 runs.

Indian bowlers did a brilliant job and set all the Sri Lankan batsmen to the pavilion within 166 runs. The highest scorer from the opponent side was Dilani Surangika who scored 49 runs in 89 balls. Sri Lanka’s opening match is with New Zealand.
