The India World Cup team, after winning the T-20I series against South Africa, flew to Australia.

Rohit Sharma became the first-ever Indian captain to beat South Africa in India.

After the World Cup, the Indian team flew to Australia when India A team came to play the ODI series.

The Indian team, led by Shikhar Dhawan, came to play against SA.

The squad consists of:

Shikhar Dhawan, Shubhman Gill, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ishan Kishan, Shreyas Iyer, Sanju Samson, Shardul Thakur, Kuldeep Yadav, Avesh Khan, Ravi Bishnoi, and Mohammad Siraj.

The first ODI was played on October 6th at Lucknow.

The start time of the match was 2 p.m. but it got delayed due to bad weather.

After the delay due to the rain, the ODI match was reduced to a 40-over match.

India won the toss and elected to field first.

South Africa Innings

Janeman Malan and Quinton de Kock opened the inning for South Africa.

They both gave a good and stable start to the team when Malan lost his wicket to Shardul Thakur.

After the first wicket went down, there were more frequent wickets that followed.

Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller handled the situation, both of whom had just turned fifty.

Due to their partnership of 139 runs, SA reached a total of 249/4.

India Innings

Shikhar Dhawan and Shubhman Gill opened the innings for India.

Both lost their wickets soon after, followed by Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ishan Kishan.

India’s score was just 51 runs for the loss of four wickets.

As when Shreyas Iyer and Sanju Samson handled the situation.

They both managed to complete their half-centuries as well.

The knock of 86 runs by Sanju brought India close to victory.

In the end, the bowlers of SA didn’t let the Indian team chase the score as they won by 9 runs.

Lungi Ngidi and Kagiso Rabada together sent half of the Indian team back to the pavilion.

Heinrich Klaasen was elected as the Player of the Match for his knock of 74 runs.

The three-match ODI series stands at 1-0.
