Mumbai Indians (MI) secures their first win of the season by winning the match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

It was their third game of the season; they lost the first match against Chennai Super Kings and the second match against Gujarat Titans.

In their third match of the season, they marked an impactful comeback in the season, ticking all the boxes.

The bowling attack performed mind-blowingly, unrevealing a new star in the form of Ashwani Kumar, who debuted for Mumbai Indians in today’s match.

On the first debut ball of his career, he took the wicket of Ajinkya.

Match Details

The 12th match of the Indian Premier League was all set to be played at the Wankhede stadium.

The Mumbai Indians were returning home for the first time this season. They won the toss and elected to field first.

Kolkata Knight Riders Innings

Quinton de Kock and Sunil Narine opened the innings for KKR.

Trent Boult gave an outstanding start to MI as he bowled Sunil on the fourth delivery of the innings.

In the first ball of the next over, Deepak Chahar took the wicket of Quinton de Kock.

Then came the debutant Ashwani Kumar to bowl the fourth over and take Ajinkya’s wicket.

Wickets were falling quickly as the debutant was showing great intent and taking wickets.

The other bowlers were also supporting him from the other ends.

KKR used their impact player in the end and called in Manish Pandey, but he also wasn’t able to add many runs.

KKR lost all their wickets at the score of 116 runs; the young Ashwani Kumar took four wickets, Deepak Chahar took two, and all the rest of the bowlers took one wicket each.

Mumbai Indians Innings

Rohit Sharma was called in as the impact player, and Ryan Rickelton opened the innings with him for MI.

They both started great, but soon Andre Russell took the wicket of Rohit.

Will Jacks came in to bat and started to add runs as Ryan on the other end completed his half-century.

Russell gave another breakthrough by taking the wicket of Will.

Suryakumar came in to bat and started to smash boundaries, and soon he and Ryan made MI win the match by eight wickets with 43 balls remaining.
