Mumbai Indians suffered their second consecutive defeat in the Indian Premier League.

The opening match of Mumbai Indians was against Chennai Super Kings in which CSK won the game by four wickets.

Match Details

The 9th Match of the tournament was played between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans.

Mumbai Indians will be seeking their first victory this season.

Gujarat Titans on the other hand will also be seeking victory as they lost their first match against Punjab Kings.

Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to field first.

Gujarat Titans Innings

Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill opened the Innings for GT.

They both started great and were showing great intent from the start.

Great shots were seen by them as they were making good use of the powerplay.

Hardik Pandya broke their partnership by taking the wicket of Shubman.

Jos came in to bat and started to play a great knock but soon Mujeeb Ur Rahman took his wicket.

Then wickets started to fall and Sai completed his half-century.

In the end, they were able to make a respectable score of 196 for the loss of eight wickets.

Hardik took two wickets whereas, Trent, Deepak, Mujeeb, and Satyanarayana took one wicket each.

GT sent out Sherfane Rutherford and called in their seam bowler Ishant Sharma.

Mumbai Indians Innings

Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton opened the Innings for MI.

Mohammed Siraj didn’t let them settle as he took the wicket of Rohit in the first over and Ryan in his next over.

Tilak Varma and Suryakumar Yadav came into bat and handled the Innings from there for a while.

They both added great runs and were looking strong but Prasidh Krishna didn’t let them go for long.

He took the wicket of Tilak first and then soon took the wicket of Suryakumar as well.

MI called in Robin Minz as their impact player but he also lost his wicket.

In the end, Mumbai Indians were able to make a total of 160 runs for the loss of six wickets.

They lost the match by 36 and are still looking for their first win of the season.
