Mumbai Indians Women clinch second WPL title as Harmanpreet Kaur leads with the captain’s knock in the finals.

Mumbai Indians Women become the most successful team in the Women’s Premier League by winning their second WPL trophy.

MI-W started off the league with a loss against DC-W and came back into the tournament by winning the next four matches.

DC-W in the next match with them again beat them and then RCB-W also beat them further in the league.

In total, they lost three matches in the entire league as the final was all set to be played against DC-W.

Match Details

The final match of the third edition of the Women’s Premier League was set to be played at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.

Mumbai Indians Women were going to face Delhi Capitals Women, who have defeated them twice in the league stages.

DC-W won the toss and elected to field first.

Mumbai Indians Women’s Innings

Yastika Bhatia and Hayley Matthews opened the innings for them.

Marizanne Kapp didn’t let them settle as she took the wickets of both the openers in her starting overs.

Nat Sciver-Brunt and Harmanpreet Kaur stepped forward and started to handle the innings.

They both started to build important partnerships to stabilize the MI-W total.

Shree Charani broke their partnership as she took the wicket of Nat.

Jonassen after that took two wickets in a single over; on the other end, Harmanpreet completed her half-century.

They knock by her of 66 runs, taking the total of them to 149 for the loss of seven wickets.

Delhi Capitals Women’s Innings

Meg Lanning and Shafali Verma opened the innings for DC-W.

Nat, in her first over, took the wicket of Meg, and in the next over, she took the wicket of Shafali.

The quick fall of wickets didn’t stop them soon Kerr took wickets as well.

The MI-W bowlers were taking wickets at regular intervals of time only Marizanne Kapp was playing a stable knock.

In the end, they stopped the Delhi Capitals Women at a score of 141 for the loss of nine wickets.

By this, they won the final of the Women’s Premier League by eight runs and lifted their second title.

In total now the Mumbai Indians franchise has 12 titles, which is the most by any franchise.
