New Zealand’s victory over Bangladesh marks their way to the semi-finals.

The Black Caps started their ICC Champions Trophy tour with a win against Pakistan.

Match Details

The second match of the Kiwis was played on February 24th at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

They were played against Bangladesh as they won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Bangladesh Innings

Tanzid Hasan and Najmul Hossain Shanto opened the innings for Bangladesh.

They both started great as Tanzid was hitting good boundaries from the start.

Michael Bracewell didn’t let him settle for long, as he soon took his wicket.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz came in to bat as Najmul kept on going from one side.

Going on Najmul completed his half-century but no other batsmen were supporting him from the other end.

His knock of 77 runs was taking Bangladesh towards a stable score as he lost his wicket.

In the end, Jaker Ali handled the innings with his knock of 45 runs, and they made a total of 236 runs for the loss of nine wickets.

Micheal Bracewell took four wickets and Will O’Rourke took two wickets.

New Zealand Innings

Will Young and Devon Conway opened the innings for the Black Caps.

Taskin Ahmed in the first over bowled Will as Kane came in to bat and lost his wicket in the third over.

Rachin Ravindra came to the crease and started to handle the innings with Devon.

They both added some runs in the run chase when Mustafizur Rahman bowled Devon and broke their partnership.

Rachin, going on, completed his half-century, and Tom Latham started to support him from the other end.

They both were taking the Kiwis to their second consecutive win in the ICC Champions Trophy.

Rachin soon completed his century but later lost his wicket to Rishad.

Tom completed his half-century but soon got run out.

In the end, Glenn Phillips and Michael Bracewell scored the winning runs and made New Zealand win the second match and pave their way into the semi-finals.

With their win, India also qualified for their third consecutive semi-finals in the ICC Champions Trophy.
