Virat Kohli

India’s captain in all 3 formats, Virat Kohli has claimed that the players do not feel any extra pressure while facing arch rival Pakistan and added that it is just another game of cricket for professional cricketers. Kohli was speaking to the reporters before departing for the upcoming ICC champions Trophy.

While being asked about the mindset before and during the game against Pakistan, Virat Kohli said that India – Pakistan games are always high quality games because of the excitements from the fans. However, for professional cricketers, it remains as just another game and every team plays to win.

India is the defending champions as they had won the tournament in 2013. This year, India will start the campaign with a game against Pakistan on June 4th.

While being asked if playing Pakistan is logical under such growing political tensions, Virat Kohli stated that as a professional cricketer, he is not the right person to talk about political situations.

Though India has been dominant over Pakistan by winning 11 games in World Cups, it had lost two champions trophy games before winning the first one in 2013. After the game against Pakistan, India will play Sri Lanka on June 8 and South Africa on June 11.
