New Zealand played the first T-20I of the two-match series against the Netherlands on August 4th at The Hague.

New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat first.

First Innings

Martin Guptil and Finn Allen opened for the NZ side.

Both of them started great as there were great shots from the beginning itself when Tim Pringle took the wicket of Allen.

Martin kept on going as he was looking good, but there were falls of wickets on the other side as well.

His knock of 45 runs added valuable runs to the total of the NZ team.

The short knocked by the other batsmen took the total of New Zealand to 148 runs for the loss of seven wickets.

Logan Van Beek and Sharis Ahmad took two wickets each limiting the total to NZ.

Meanwhile, Clayton Floyd, Tim Pringle, and Ryan Klein also took one wicket each.

Second Innings

Stephan Myburgh and Max O’Dowd opened for the NL side.

In the first over, Myburgh hit a beautiful boundary as he made it clear that they would fight to achieve the total.

But Blair Tickner wasn’t going to let that happen, as in the first ball of the second over he took the wicket of Myburgh.

In the first ball of his second over, he bowled Max and also took the wicket of Tom Cooper in the same over.

Blair had three breakthroughs against the NL team, as he even sent their openers back to the pavilion.

Bas de Leede was looking good as he slowly kept on going and scoring runs despite the wickets falling on the other side.

Ben Sears struck back-to-back as he took three wickets and pushed the NL team backward in the game.

Bas kept on going as he completed his half-century, but Tickner struck again as he took his wicket as well.

The bowlers of NZ stopped the batsmen of NL at a total of 132 runs as they took all their wickets.

Blair Tickner took four major wickets and Ben Sears took three wickets.

In the end, NZ won the match by 16 runs.
