India played the second T20I against West Indies on 1st August at Basseterre.
After winning the last T-20 IND will be looking forward to claiming another victory.
Whereas, WI will be looking to level the series by winning the match.
WI won the toss and elected to field first.
First Innings
Rohit Sharma and Surya Kumar Yadav opened the innings for IND.
They both will be looking to build a big total.
Obed McCoy wasn’t gonna let the plans work as he took the wicket of Rohit in the first ball of the innings.
In his next over McCoy strikes again in the first ball of the second over as he now took the wicket of Surya Kumar.
The Indian team was in great trouble as they lost both of their openers in the starting over itself.
In the powerplay, IND managed to put a total of 56 runs for the loss of three wickets as Iyer and Pant tried to score some runs.
Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya started to build a partnership as Akela Hosein took the wicket of Pant.
The Indian batsman was not able to stand in front of the WI bowlers.
Obed McCoy took three wickets in a single over completing his five wickets haul and taking down six wickets of the Indian team.
McCoy’s outstanding bowling stopped the IND team for a total of 138 runs for the loss of all their wickets.
Second Innings
Brandon King and Kyle Mayers opened for the WI team.
The openers came out to bat with a mindset to win the match and chase down the total.
Brandon started to play great cricketing shots as there were fours and sixes.
WI put off a total of 46 runs for no loss of wicket.
Hardik Pandya didn’t let the game go away so easily as he took the wicket of Mayers and brought IND back in the game.
Ashwin struck again as he took the wicket of Nicholas Pooran.
Indian bowlers were not letting them take away the game soo easily as Brandon on the other side kept on going.
Avesh Khan brought back IND in the game as he bowled Brandon.
Devon Thomas played the role of an important role as a finisher. He stood till the last and took his team to victory.
WI won the match by five wickets as they also leveled the series by 1-1. Obed McCoy was the Player of the Match.
