In the Pakistan Tour of Sri Lanka, the second test of the two-match series was played at Galle on July 24th-28th.

Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first.

SL First Innings

Oshada Fernando and Dimuth Karunaratne opened for the SL side.

The openers gave a good start to the team as Oshada even completed his half-century but lost his wicket to Nawaz.

The short knocks were adding valuable runs to the SL total.

Through Dinesh Chandimal’s beautiful knock of 80 runs and
Niroshan’s 51 runs, SL achieved a total of 378 runs.

Naseem Shah and Yasir Shah took three wickets each in limiting the SL innings.

PAK’s First Innings

PAK lost their first openers on the second ball of the innings itself.

Imam-ul-Haq and Babar Azam took forward the innings when Babar was clean bowled by Jayasuriya.

The PAK batsmen were in trouble standing against the bowlers of SL as only Agha Salman was able to complete his half-century.

Agha’s 62-run knock took PAK to a total of 231 runs.

Ramesh Mendis took a haul of five wickets and Prabath Jayasuriya took three wickets, limiting the total to PAK.

SL’s Second Innings

SL’s start wasn’t good as there were falling of wickets at short intervals.

Dimuth Karunaratne and Dhananjaya De Silva built a partnership of 126 runs as both of them completed their half-centuries.

Nauman Ali broke the partnership as he took the wicket of Karunaratne.

Dhananjaya completed his century as he added valuable runs to the total.

SL declared their innings at a total of 360 runs for the loss of eight wickets.

Naseem Shah and Mohammad Nawaz took two wickets each.

PAK’s Second Innings

The openers of PAK gave them a stable start, yet no one was able to convert the runs into a big total.

Babar Azam, alone trying to handle the situation, played a beautiful knock of 81 runs as no other batsmen accompanied him.

PAK got all out at a total of 261 runs.

Prabath Jayasuriya took a haul of five wickets and Ramesh Mendis took four wickets in limiting the batsmen of PAK.

As the match ended, SL won by a margin of 246 runs as Dhananjaya De Silva was named the Player of the Match for his knock of 33 and 109 runs, a wicket. Prabath Jayasuriya was the Player of the Series for taking 17 wickets.
