Bad news coming in from the Pakistan camp as the opening batsman of Pakistan Fakhar Zaman has been left out and sidelined for the upcoming series against the Black Caps due to potential Covid-19 symptoms that the player has developed over the past recent days. It was reported by the PCB that Fakhar has tested negative but developed a high fever during the isolation period and in order to to keep other players safe, the PCB has taken this decision.

The team doctor of Pakistan Cricket Team Sohail Saleem reported that Fakhar had tested negative but soon after that developed symptoms hence he was taken away from rest of the teammates and isolated.

For now, Fakhar Zaman is not in a condition to travel with the squad but is in constant monitoring by the team doctors and hence looks forward to a speedy recovery.

Fakhar Zaman has played 40 T20 Internationals and 47 One Day Internationals for his country.

Abdullah Shafique and Haider Ali are expected to be opening the batting for Pakistan as they played incredibly well against Zimbabwe and hence there will be no replacement announced for Fakhar Zaman.

The series will begin on 18th of December where the men in green will be playing Black Caps. There will be 2 Tests and 3 T20s.
