Pakistan secures victory in opening test against West Indies in a two-match tour.

Match Details

The first match was played from January 17th-19th in Multan.

Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first.

Pakistan First Innings

Shan Masood and Muhammad Hurraira opened the innings for Pakistan.

They both tried to give a good start to their team but failed to do so as Jayden Seales started to take wickets from the start.

The top order soon lost their wickets as Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan handled the innings.

They both kept on going and soon completed their half-centuries.

With their partnership, Pakistan reached a total of 230 runs.

Jayden Seales and Jomel Warrican took three wickets each.

West Indies First Innings

Kraigg Brathwaite and Mikyle Louis opened the innings for WI.

They both failed to get off to a good start, as Sajid Khan took two consecutive wickets in the second over.

One by one, all the batsmen were losing their wickets, and they lost all their wickets at the score of just 137 runs.

Normal Ali took five wickets and Sajid Khan took four wickets.

Pakistan Second Innings

Shan Masood and Muhammad Hurraira opened the innings as they gave a stable start to their team.

Jomel Warrican didn’t let them go for long, as he soon took the wicket of Muhammad.

Then, the Jomel show started. He kept on taking wickets and stopped the Pakistani innings at 157 runs.

He took a haul of five wickets, and in total, he took seven wickets.

West Indies Second Innings

Kraigg Brathwaite and Mikyle Louis opened the innings for them.

Sajid Khan and Abrar Ahmed soon started to take wickets from both ends.

One by one they were taking the wickets as they stopped them at a total of just 123 runs.

Sajid took a haul of five wickets, and Abrar took four wickets.

Pakistan won the first match by 127 runs and took the lead in the two-match series by 1-0.
