Wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel, who played his last international match before 4 years and last test match before 8 years, has been recalled to Indian test team. The recall comes due to an injury to Wriddhiman Saha, India’s first choice wicketkeeper in tests.

Saha had strained his left thigh during the recent test match between Indian and England in Vizag. He is expected to be out of the field for a couple of weeks. The third test of the series is set to be played from November 26th to November 30th in Mohali.

Parthiv Patel, the 31 year old wicketkeeper who made his test debut as a 17 year old in 2002, has been in and out from Indian team, both in ODIs and Test matches. He has played 20 tests, scoring 1527 runs at an average of 30. In first class cricket, he has been pretty impressive over the years and has 9397 runs in 161 matches at an average of 44.

Parthiv has been pretty good with his recent form. In the ongoing Ranji season, he has scored 415 runs in 8 innings at an average of 59. This includes 3 fifties and a hundred.
