Anil Kumble and Virat Kohli

The head coach of Indian Cricket team, Anil Kumble had stepped down on Tuesday by giving his resignation due to his long-running disagreements and differences with the skipper Virat Kohli. But this move is having adverse effects on Virat Kohli as the pressure of the team has now fallen directly on him.

A top BCCI official said TOI, “It has been given to understand that Kohli eventually had the veto power on the coach issue which pushed Kumble out of the team. Now that he has his way, he has to deliver as captain. Otherwise, he had it.”

When Virat Kohli met the members of CAC, he told them about his lack of trust in Kumble but agreed to work with him if forced while Kumble on the other side said that he had no problem working with Kohli. However, CAC went in the favour of Kumble and told him to continue as head coach but due to Kohli’s strong reservations against him, Kumble decided to step down on his own. Not many players were interested where the coach was at the time of departure from London. According to the board official, the one near to Kohli will survive this heat including the batting coach, Sanjay Bangar.
