Ravi Shastri has already made an impression on the members of the Indian cricket team even before being appointed as the head coach. And maybe that’s why none of the players raised an objection on his appointment and are ready to work under his guidance. Indian wicketkeeper-batsman, Wriddhiman Saha on Wednesday said that during his term as the team director, Shastri showed a positive mindset.

“He is a very positive coach. When he was team director, he always used to tell us to back our strengths and not be defensive,” said Saha.

When asked whether the change of coach will bother him or not, he answered, “Whether it’s Ravi Bhai or Anil Bhai, both will want the team to do well. We also want that as players. Now every coach has its own way of giving inputs. That is to be seen. Our job is to perform on the field. I don’t think changing of coaches will make much of a difference.”

The former India captain was earlier given the post of team manager during 2007 tour of Bangladesh and later was appointed as the team director from 2014 August to 2016 June during which India won an overseas Test series versus Sri Lanka, reached the semi-finals of 2015 World Cup and World T20 semi-finals in 2016.

India will play three Tests, five ODIs and one T20 between starting from July 26 to September 6.
