Ravindra Jadeja was out of the Indian team due to a knee injury.

The Indian team was missing him as he is one of the best all-rounders on the team.

His presence strengthens the Indian team, as he brings great bowling as well as batting experience.

He was missed at the World Cup too, but now he has recovered from the surgery.

The Border Gavaskar Trophy, also known as the BGT, was around the corner.

BGT is played between India and Australia, and Australia has always been the superior one.

India is right now in the second position in the test matches, and Australia is in first place.

India needs to win at least three matches out of the four against Australia to reach the final of the Test match.

The final of the test match will be played at the Oval in London from June 7–11.

If India wins the test series against Australia, they can reach the final of the test match.

First match

The first test match was to be played at Nagpur from February 9th–13th.

Australia won the toss and elected to bat first.

Australia Innings

David Warner and Usman Khawaja opened the inning for them.

Mohammad Siraj took the first wicket in his first over.

Mohammad Shami, not staying behind took another wicket in the next over.

Ravindra Jadeja, marking his comeback, took a five-wicket haul in the first innings.

He sent half of the Australian batsmen back to the pavilion as Ravichandran Ashwin also took three wickets.

The Indian bowlers stopped the Australian innings at the score of 177 runs.

Rohit Sharma opened the inning alongside KL Rahul.

They both gave the team a good start.

By the end of the day, India was 77/1, and Rohit Sharma had completed his half-century.

The next day, Rohit completed his century, and India was in a good position.

As the wickets started to fall, Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel handled the situation.

They both completed their half-centuries as they put up a partnership of 81 runs at the end of day two.

Day three will start tomorrow, for now India is leading by 144 runs.
