His test debut, however, came after a four-year, against England in Nagpur.

He reached this mark on January 22, 2017, when he dismissed Sam Billings at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

Jadeja also became the top-ranked bowler in the world, surpassing Ravichandran Ashwin, who held the position for a long time.

He is also ranked first among Test all-rounders by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

He was also awarded the Arjuna Award in 2019 for Outstanding Performance in Sports and Games.

India won the league stage match against Pakistan, a crucial and neck-to-neck game, with the help of his knock and bowling performance.

That was the last match he played, after which he was ruled out due to a knee injury.

Although the surgery was successful, he needs to rest for a longer duration, because of which he won’t be able to be a part of the Indian World Cup team.

It is a loss for the Indian team as he won’t be able to play in the World Cup.
