Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) triumphs at Wankhede and ends a long ten years of waiting to win against Mumbai Indians on their home ground.

The last time RCB won the match in the home ground of MI, Wankhede Stadium, was in the year 2015.

They finally overcame the drought of losses at the Wankhede and won an excellent thriller match.

Match Details

The 20th match of the IPL was all set to be played between the two big teams, RCB and MI, at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Hardik Pandya, the captain of Mumbai Indians, won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Jasprit Bumrah was declared fit by the coach and was making a comeback in the IPL.

Royal Challengers Bangalore Innings

Phil Salt and Virat Kohli opened the innings for RCB.

Trent Boult, coming to bowl the first over, bowled Phil on the second ball of the delivery.

Devdutt Padikkal came in first down as Virat was hitting the ball from the other end.

He was seen in tremendous form and soon went on to complete his half-century.

The outstanding knock by Virat gave a great start to RCB, and then came the partnership between Rajat and Jitesh.

Rajat played a beautiful knock of 64 runs, and Jitesh, playing a knock of 40 runs, took them to 221 runs.

Mumbai Indians Innings

Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton opened the innings for MI.

Rohit started to hit the ball for boundaries, but Yash Dayal soon bowled him.

Ryan, Will, and Suryakumar Yadav soon lost their wickets, making it difficult for MI to chase down the total.

Tilak Varma handled the innings, and Hardik Pandya, from the other end, started to hit every single ball for a boundary.

In just 15 balls, he scored 42 runs, taking MI close to victory, and Tilak completed his half-century at the other end.

They both were doing the impossible and taking MI towards victory from a lost match.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar brought RCB back into the game by taking the wicket of Tilak, and in the next over, Hardik lost his wicket.

In the end, MI was only able to make 209 runs and lost the match by 12 runs.
