Satyendra Singh reached the finals of International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup Rifle/Pistol series, held in Gabala, Azerbaijan, in the men’s 50m event. However, he finished eight after the finals on Tuesday.

It was the first ever World Cup for him and he scored 1173 to qualify for the top eight. Satyendra’s companion, Sanjeev Rajput who is also an Olympian was not able to reach the final round with a score of 1157 and finished at 45th place. In the top eight, Styendra scored 396.7 and became the first one to be eliminated.

Earlier, the mixed duo of Heena Sidhu and Jitu Rai won gold in the 10m Pistol mixed team event which is going to provide them an advantage at Olympic medal event in the Tokyo 2020 summer Olympics. Other players who qualified for the finals in the Gabala World Cup are, Meghana Sajjanar and Pooja Ghatkar in the Women’s 10m Air Rifle event. Both finished 4th and 5th respectively.
