The Formula 1 community is undoubtedly going to miss Sebastian Vettel a lot. But, before we bid adieu, why not recall the beautiful memories he created for every F1 fan?

The German driver made his professional debut with BMW Sauber back in 2007. To recall, it was the United States Grand Prix where he performed his first career race while scoring a point for his team. In his entire career, Vettel has won four championships, including 53 Grand Prix victories that have been recorded in his name. Before joining Aston Martin, the driver was also a part of Scuderia Ferrari. We believe that adequately conveys his significance to the sport. At the end of this year, Vettel will be completing his 15th Formula 1 season.

The announcement that Vettel will be retiring was unexpected, but before we form any opinions, consider what the German driver has to say.

“The decision to retire has been a difficult one for me to take, and I have spent a lot of time thinking about it; at the end of the year I want to take some more time to reflect on what I will focus on next; it is very clear to me that, being a father, I want to spend more time with my family.

“But today is not about saying goodbye. Rather, it is about saying thank you – to everyone – not least to the fans, without whose passionate support Formula 1 could not exist.”

Who could replace him?

Aston Martin is an excellent value, as we have already seen throughout the Racing Point era. The project’s owner, Lawrence Stroll, wants it to be a huge one, so lately he has been pushing for all the resources the racing team needs. Although Sebastian was a part of the plan for next year, Aston Martin needs to evaluate who they want to give a chance now that he has announced his retirement.

The insiders claim that Fernando Alonso will be Stroll’s first pick because no one else could be the ideal Vettel substitute. Surprisingly, big names like Oscar Piastri, Daniel Ricciardo, and Nico Hulkenberg are also anticipated to be taken into consideration in our most recent advancements.

Additionally, Vettel made a suggestion that the racing team should consider Mick Schumacher, a young and gifted driver. Is that a wise plan? Well, only time shall tell!
