Former Indian captain and team director Ravi Shastri has been recently handed over the job of the coach after Anil Kumble stepped down from the post. He will now serve Indian team a year after he was the of the Indian cricket team for 18 months, and will now be with the team as a head coach till World Cup 2019.
Ravi Shastri has a lot to do as a coach, which also includes MS Dhoni‘s place in the team. Each passing game says that Dhoni’s powers are not as same as before. However, his new technique of slow start and catching up latter is doing well for him. Though he may not be able to score from the bat, still he is the best wicket keeper till now and it would be very difficult for a newcomer to replace him.
Talking about the ICC World Cup 2019, India then can only afford one player. Either Dhoni or Yuvraj. Shastri has a lot of work to do in this department. Also, he said on MS Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh that their future depends on fitness. “Their experience will be invaluable and their performance from the last 10-15 years should be respected. Fitness and current form are the two most important parameters to judge their future,” Shastri said.
