Rajasthan Royals vs Delhi Capital-- Jos ButtlerOfficial Twitter page of Rajasthan Royals

Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals played against each other in match number 34th of IPL 2022 at Wankhede Stadium Mumbai on 22nd April.

Both the teams are looking good after winning their last matches and would be looking for another win.

Delhi Capitals won the toss and elected to bowl first and brought the Royals to bat and set up a high score. So did the Royals accept it and came to bat with a mindset to create a big total. As their start was slow but great in-form batsmen Jos Buttler with the other opener Devdutt Padikal started well as their partnership was seeing unbreakable the historic partnership of 155 runs made the game interesting and watching them bat was a must-watch. The shots, boundaries, and big hits were worth watching.

Yet another century came out from Buttler’s bat, 3 centuries in IPL 2022 by him followed by the half-century by Padikal made the total huge. As he got out, Sanju Samson came out to bat, the captain didn’t let his team down as he also continued to hit big shots and make a total that is difficult to achieve. The great knock of 46 runs in just 19 deliveries with a strike rate of 242 made their team get the highest total of 222 for the fall of just 2 wickets biggest of IPL 2022.

So now it was time for the Capitals to chase down the highest run scored against any IPL team in 2022. Their openers Prithvi Shaw and David Warner started well by setting boundaries and getting as many runs as possible in the powerplay itself until they got a frequent breakthrough as firstly Warner then in the following over Sarfaraz Khan lost their wickets.

While the Capitals kept on the fight despite their wickets falling they did not give up as almost all the batsmen who were coming to bat tried their best to chase down the run score. Rishabh Pant and Lalit Yadav with their knocks impressed the crowd.

Whereas Rovman Powell in the last over just made it look like the Delhi just have taken away the game from Rajasthan by the back-to-back 3 big sixes in a row.

In the chase, Delhi Capitals surely fought hard till the end but ended up on the losing side. They got restricted to 207 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. The bowlers of Rajasthan did a good job in defending the score, Prasidh Krishna taking the 3 most crucial match-changing wickets and the maiden over that made the game for them.

In the end, Rajasthan Royals won the game by 15 runs. The Man Of The Match award was given to Jos Buttler of Rajasthan for his tremendous century. Should we bow down? Yeah, he’s a king.
