Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan equal KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock’s record for the highest first-wicket partnership.

The record for the highest first-wicket partnership was with KL and De Kock for scoring 210 not-out partnerships.

Gill and Sai equaled the record, as they hit exactly 210 runs when Sai got out.

Match Details 

The 59th match of the IPL was played in Ahmedabad.

The match was between the Gujarat Titans and the Chennai Super Kings.

It was a must-win match for both teams to be in the race for the playoffs.

The Chennai Super Kings won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Gujarat Titans (GT) Innings 

Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill opened the innings for GT.

They both started slow and were forming a good partnership.

Taking the match forward, they both completed their half-centuries and started to charge against every bowler.

Their partnership was looking unbreakable, as they were hitting great shots.

They both even completed their centuries and formed a 200+ run partnership.

As they were looking towards a big total, Tushar Deshpande took the wicket of Sai.

And later in the same over, he took the wicket of Shubman.

The two set batsmen got out in the same over as David and M. Shahrukh Khan came into bat.

They weren’t able to play big shots, and GT made a total of 231/3.

Tushar Deshpande’s outstanding two wickets in the same over stopped GT from achieving a 250+ score.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) Innings 

Ajinkya Rahane and Rachin Ravindra opened the innings for CSK.

In the first over, Rachin got run out by David Miller.

In the next two overs, CSK lost two more wickets as they were in great trouble.

Daryl Mitchell and Moeen Ali started to handle the innings from there.

They both took forward the Innings and went on to complete their half-centuries.

Mohit Sharma didn’t let them take away the match, as he took the wicket of Daryl.

In his next over, he took the wicket of Moeen and brought back GT in the game.

Going on, CSK could only make 196 runs for the loss of eight wickets.

GT won the match by 45 runs, and Shubman Gill was awarded the Player of the Match award.
