Shubman Gill Named India’s New Test Captain as a Five-Match Series Begins; Squads Announced.

After the retirement of Rohit Sharma, the captain of the Indian team, huge discussions were held.

Jasprit Bumrah and many people were in the discussion for the captaincy of the India team.

BCCI also had talks with Bumrah for the captaincy role, but his body will not allow him to play five matches.

That’s why he said to the management to choose another full-time captain.

Shubman Gill was finally chosen as the new Test captain and will lead Team India.

The young, talented opening batsman has been given the captaincy to lead such a brilliant team.

India is all set to play the five-match test series against England in England.

India Squad

Shubman Gill is leading the team, followed by wicketkeeper and batsman Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul.

Karun Nair has been given a chance again, with Abhimanyu Easwaran and Sai Sudharsan also getting a chance.

Dhruv Jurel and Yashasvi Jaiswal are the other opening batsmen.

Ravindra Jadeja, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Washington Sundar are the all-rounders in the team.

The bowlers in the team are Akash Deep and Prasidh Krishna, the newcomers.

Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Siraj, and Jasprit Bumrah are the main front-line bowlers.

Harshit Rana, Kuldeep Yadav, and Shardul Thakur are the remaining bowlers.

England Squad

Harry Brook, Joe Root, and Zak Crawley are the opening batsmen in the team.

Ollie Pope and Jamie Smith are the other batsmen, with Jamie being the wicketkeeper.

The team will be led by Ben Stokes, and the other all-rounders in the team are Jacob Bethell, Brydon Carse, Jamie Overton, and Chris Woakes.

The bowlers in the team are Sam Cook, Shoaib Bashir, and Josh Tongue.

The series will commence today and consist of five test matches.

The first match will be played at Leeds, the second in Birmingham, the third in Lord’s, the fourth in Manchester, and the final fifth in the Oval.
