Australian Batsman Steve Smith has broken 73-year-old record and became the fastest batsman to score 7,000 runs in Test match.

Smith surpassed record of England’s Wally Hammond (Scored 7,000 in his 131st innings) by scoring 7,000 runs in his 126th innings. It was Hammond who held this record for 73 long years. Smith marked his score on the second day of the ongoing pink-ball test match against Pakistan at Adelaide Oval.

In run-scoring list for Australia, Steve Smith also moved past Donald Bradman, who scored 6,996 runs in the longest format of the match.

On the other hand, Indian batsman Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar reached the same milestone in their 134th and 136th innings.
