Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders took over on each other in match number 25th of IPL in Mumbai on April 16th. While after losing their last match Kolkata was looking for a victory. Whereas after the 2 consecutive wins Sunrisers wanted to bag their third one.

After the two back-to-back wins for the Hyderabad team, their batting lineup is looking back in form, making them capable of reaching the top of the points table. With a great performance by the batsmen, including Abhishek Sharma, Kane Williamson, Rahul Tripathi, and Nicholas Pooran every run chase is seeming easy for the Hyderabad side. Also, their bowlers are also doing a great job in limiting the opponent team to a low score. For instance, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, T Natarajan and Urman Malik together look like a decent bowling lineup for the upcoming matches as well.

Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and elected to bowl first. As the Kolkata Team started to bat, there was a frequent fall of wickets but as this unfortunate event was happening, Nitish Rana with the help of the fifty and some fire shots by Andre Russell they managed to put up a fighting total against the Hyderabad team summing up their total to 175 for the fall of 8 wickets.

For stopping the KKR in a total of 175/8 the bowlers of Sunrisers did a great job. A great spell by T Natarajan by taking 3 wickets and Urman Malik for another two crucial wickets helped SRH from getting a high score to chase.

It was time for the Hyderabad Team to come out to bat but after the fall of the two main batsmen, including Abhishek Sharma and Kane Williamson, the magnificent knock by Rahul Tripathi of 71 runs and Aden Markram of 68 runs and their partnership of 94 runs made their way to the 3rd victory in a row for the Sunrisers Hyderabad Team. Sadly, Kolkata registered their 2nd successive loss. And Pat Cummins finished off the game in style by smashing four and two back-to-back sixes to end the game.

As the match ended Rahul Tripathi was given the Man of the Match award for his incredible knock of 74 runs increasing the winning percentage of their team and in the end winning the match with even 13 balls spare.
