BHUBNESHWAR: The stage was set for the big clash between the FC Goa and Chennai city on Tuesday at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar. The winner will advance to the final of the Hero super cup 2019.
Both the team started in a similar fashion as they attacked each other. But goa was looking really threatening as they kept on attacking the goal. The first card of the match was given to the Seriton Fernandes as he fouled Ajith.
Chennai’s Nestor Gordillo was playing really well but couldn’t get the goal for his team. But in the 26th Minute of the match, Goa managed to earn a penalty and they successfully made that chance counted as Ferran Corominas scored a wonderful penalty and gave Goa 1-0 lead in the 26th minute of the match.
After conceding that goal Chennai pulled their socks and they started a lethal attack against Goa but didn’t able to score the goal. Goa’s goal-keeping was well on the top.
In the 35TH minute, Goa again found the goal post and again it was Coromias who scored the 2nd goal of the evening. Throughout the game, Goa was looking in the great touch.
Goa was way ahead of Chennai as the scoreline depict 2-0 when the first 45 minutes of the game ended.
In the second half of the game, Chennai needs some miracle to get back on the track. They already missed 2 corners which they gathered in the first half of the match. And in the 48th Minute, they snatched their 3rd corner but didn’t score.
All the hopes of the Chennai camp ended as Brandon Fernandes scored the third goal in the 69th minute for Goa. Chennai players carved open through the center, and Brandon runs on to a brilliant pass and slots it low into the far corner.
Now it was impossible for Chennai to punched back to the game as they were 3 goals behind. The referee whistled and It was FC goa who will qualify for the Hero cup Final as they comfortably beat Chennai city by 3-0.
