The BCCI has announced the schedule for the World Cup 2023 which is going to be held in India.

India is going to host the ODI World Cup this year, which is going to start in October.

The first-ever World Cup was played in 1975 when England hosted the tournament for three consecutive times.

Since then, the World Cup has taken place in several nations, and Australia has won it the most five times.

Teams Qualified

So far, seven teams have qualified for the World Cup, and the rest of the teams will be decided by the qualifiers.

India, Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, New Zealand, and Pakistan are the seven teams.

Other teams, followed by the West Indies, Sri Lanka, and the Netherlands, are in the qualifiers to qualify for the World Cup.

Venues

The BCCI shortlisted thirteen venues for the World Cup.

The venues include Wankhede Mumbai, Eden Gardens Kolkata, and several more.

According to the team rankings, New Zealand is at the top, followed by England, Australia, India, and other teams.

The top four teams that win the maximum number of matches will go further into the semi-finals, followed by the finals.

The ICC World Cup Schedule

The World Cup will start on October 5th, when the first match will be played between the top two ranked teams.

New Zealand and England are the top two teams that will play in the first match.

The finals will be played on November 19th, which will happen after a series of matches.

India vs. Pakistan, the most anticipated and important match, will be played on October 15th in Ahmedabad.

The schedule for India is:

India vs. Australia on October 8th in Chennai.
India vs. Afghanistan on October 11th in Delhi.
India vs. Pakistan on October 15th in Ahmedabad.
India vs. Bangladesh on October 19th in Pune.
India vs. New Zealand on October 22nd in Dharamshala.
India vs. England on October 29th in Lucknow.
India vs. Qualifier on November 2nd in Mumbai.
India vs. South Africa on November 5th in Kolkata.
India vs. Qualifier on November 11th in Bengaluru.
