Ahead of the World Cup, South Africa came to India for a T-20I and ODI series.

The T-20I series was won by the Indian team as Rohit became the first Indian captain to beat SA on Indian soil.

Later, the team departed for Australia for the upcoming practice matches and the World Cup tour.

For the ODI series, another team of Indians was formed as the selected squad had left for the World Cup.

The series now stands at 1-1, and thanks to an outstanding performance in the last match, India leveled the series.

The last and deciding ODI is to be played on October 11th in Delhi.

Match Details

Shikhar Dhawan, the Indian captain, won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Janneman Malan and Quinton de Kock opened the innings for South Africa.

Only after the third over did the Indian bowlers begin to take wickets did they realize they had other plans.

Washington Sundar began to rally on wickets after dismissing Quinton.

Since then, the bowlers haven’t let even a single batsman settle down and score some runs.

The great bowling ruled out all the bowlers at just 99 runs.

The knock of 34 runs by Heinrich Klaasen took them to a score of 99.

Kuldeep took four major wickets and was also on a hat-trick in the 25th over.

Washington Sundar, Mohammad Siraj, and Shahbaz Ahmed took two wickets each.

The embarrassment for the South Africa team to get all out at just 99 runs, and will also affect the qualification process for the World Cup in 2023.

Second Innings

Shikhar Dhawan and Shubhman Gill opened the innings for India.

When Shikhar lost his wicket, Shubman had a blistering start for the Indian team.

Shikhar got run out by Jansen and De Kock.

The knock of 49 runs by Shubhman took the Indian team to a quick victory.

The team gave outstanding performances as some bowlers also performed well.

Kuldeep Yadav was declared the Player of the Match, and Mohammad Siraj was named the Player of the Series.
