India’s dominant performance secures a 2-0 series victory.

Rohit Sharma’s men beat the odds and continued their dominance at home and over Bangladesh, wrapping up the series 2-0.

The victory was accompanied by a plethora of records as India’s batsmen broke several records in the first inning. Their outstanding win propelled India to the top spot in the WTC standings.

Match Details

The 2nd Test match was played in Kanpur from September 27th to October 1st. India won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Bangladesh First Innings

Zakir and Shadman opened the innings for the Bangladesh Tigers.

However, Akash Deep didn’t let them settle, taking both of their wickets early on. Ravichandran Ashwin then took Najmul’s wicket as rain interrupted the play.

After a two-day rain delay, the match resumed on Day 4, with India starting off with great momentum. Bumrah and Siraj took frequent wickets, eventually bowling out Bangladesh for 233 runs.

India First Innings

Yashasvi and Rohit Sharma opened the innings for India. The captain’s outstanding three sixes brought joy to the Indian fans. India reached 50 runs in just 3 overs, the fastest in Test history.

They continued to break records, reaching 100, 150, 200, and 250 in quick succession, eventually scoring 285. Yashasvi contributed 72 runs, while KL Rahul scored 68 runs.

Bangladesh second innings

Shadman and Zakir opened the innings, but Ashwin showed his magic, taking the wickets of Zakir and Hasan, and the day ended with Bangladesh at 26/2.

On the final day, India’s bowlers dominated, taking all of Bangladesh’s wickets for just 146 runs. Bumrah, Ashwin, and Jadeja each took three wickets.

India Second Innings

India needed 95 runs to win the match, and the top order took them to an easy victory. Yashasvi completed his half-century as India vanquished the Bangladesh team, winning the series 2-0.
