The West Indies became the first-ever team to beat Australia in a day-and-night test match.

The West Indies broke the losing streak against Australia in test matches.

They won a test match against the Australian team after a long wait of 27 years.

Shamar Joseph’s outstanding bowling figures of 7/68 brought them the victory.

The West Indies is on a tour of Australia, which consists of two test matches and three ODI and T-20I matches.

Australia won the first test match by ten wickets.

Match Details

The second test was going to be played in Brisbane from January 25th to 28th.

The West Indies won the toss and elected to bat first.

West Indies’ first innings

Kraigg Brathwaite and Tagenarine Chanderpaul opened the innings for them.

They both tried to give a good start to their teams as Hazlewood took the wicket of Kraigg.

The top order wasn’t able to perform well as they lost quick wickets.

Kavem Hodge and Joshua Da Silva handled the inning in between as their knocks of 71 and 79 runs took them towards a good total.

The ending knock by Kevin of 50 runs took the West Indies to a total of 311 runs.

Australia’s First Innings

Steven Smith and Usman Khawaja opened the innings for the Australian team.

Smith lost his wicket in the first over itself, as Marnus, Cameron, and Travis also soon lost their wickets.

Usman and Alex stood in between as they played important knocks.

By the knocks by them of 75 and 65 runs, it was taking Australia to achieve the total.

The 64-run knock by Pat brought them closer when they declared their inning.

West Indies’ second innings

They were at the lead of 22 runs as Kraigg and Tagenarine opened the inning.

The Australian bowlers started to take frequent wickets from the start itself.

None of the batsmen were able to score big runs as they were getting out at small scores.

The West Indies made a total of 193 runs as they lost all their wickets.

Australia’s Second Innings

Smith opened the innings alongside Usman, as they needed 216 runs to win.

Alzarri Joseph soon sent back Usman as soon Greaves took the wicket of Marnus.

Cameron Green, in between, played a good knock of 42 runs when Shamar Joseph bowled him.

One by one he started to take frequent wickets as Smith was standing from one end.

He continued to take wickets as he completed his five-wicket haul.

In total, Shamar Joseph took seven wickets as Australia got all out for a total of 207 runs.

The West Indies finally won the test match against Australia after a long wait of 27 years, as they won by 8 runs.
