The last time they played against each other was in match number 33 which was a mind-blowing match a very close call match ended on the last ball and Chennai Super Kings won the game by three wickets.

After winning the last game by a huge margin of 91 runs against Delhi Capitals, Chennai would be looking for another win as that will also make them come to the 6th position and increase their chances to reach the playoff as their run rate is also better than the other teams trying to reach the playoff.

Meanwhile, Mumbai after losing the last against Kolkata Knight Riders and knowing the chances of Chennai reaching the playoffs will be looking to beat them.

Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to bowl first. Now it was time for the Chennai Super Kings to set up a high-scoring game and defend it to maximize their chances to reach the playoffs.

There were frequent falls of wickets and it seemed as if no batsmen of Super Kings can stand in front of the bowlers of Mumbai. While everyone was getting out, there stood all-time favorite MS Dhoni, who added 36 valuable runs to the low total of his team as everyone apart from him lost their wicket. At last, the Super Kings made up a low total of 97 for the loss of all their wickets.

Daniel Sams took three most valuable wickets whereas Riley Meredith and Kumar Kartikeya took two wickets each limiting the Super Kings to a low score.

Now it was time for the Second Innings, Mumbai to chase down the low total as their bowlers did the task well now it was time for the batsmen. As the openers came to bat, the bowlers of Chennai also didn’t let them chase the low total easily as they took the very first wicket in the first over itself.

In total, they lost their 4 batsmen in the first five overs.

In between came a short partnership of 48 runs by Tilak Varma and Hrithik Shokeen which made the Indians come back in the game.

Mukesh Choudhary tried his best to save the game by taking three important wickets, but the knock by Tilak Varma of 34 runs once again saved his team and by the cracking six by Tim David, Mumbai Indians won the match by five wickets.

In the end, Daniel Sams of Mumbai Indians was chosen as the Man Of The Match.
