Virender Sehwag

Anil Kumble’s term as a coach is about to end and with this, BCCI has started to look for a replacement for the head coach of the Indian Cricket team. And as we all know, Virender Sehwag in the past few days has been showing interest in this job.

The Nawab of Najafgarh is known to do things in his own style. So this time also, he did not hesitate writing just a two line resume. Yes, you read it right, just a two line resume was sent to the BCCI by Sehwag. In his application, it was just written, ‘mentor and a coach of Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League and has played with all these (Indian) boys before’.

According to a source in BCCI, “Sehwag being Sehwag has sent his application in two lines. There was no CV attached to it. We had to ask him to send his CV too along with his application. After all it will be the first time he is set to appear for the interview.”

Other people apart from Anil Kumble who is automatically in the list and Virender Sehwag, other people who have applied for the job are,  former Australian fast bowler and Sunrisers Hyderabad coach Tom Moody, Englishman Richard Pybus, former India cricketers Dodda Ganesh and domestic veteran Lalchand Rajput.

The process will also include interview from Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) consisting of legendary cricketers, Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman.
