Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants played against each other in match number 57 of IPL 2022. The last time they played against each other was in number four in which Gujarat Titans defeated Giants by five wickets.
Both the teams are fighting to come to the top of the points table. After losing their last game against Mumbai Indians, Gujarat will be looking for a win. After winning their last four consecutive games Lucknow will be looking for their fifth win.
Gujarat Titans won the toss and elected to bat first to set up a high-scoring match. Their batting has been great the entire season. As the openers started to bat there was a catch drop in the very first over itself. Their start was slow and because of the pressure of the slow start and hitting boundaries, Wriddhiman Shah lost his wicket. On the other hand, Shubman Gill was looking good with the great knocks by his bat.
Meanwhile, Matthew Wade played two fours but lost his wicket for an unwanted shot. While Titans just missed a chance to run-out Gill that could make them lose the game as he is looking in great form.
On one side wickets kept on falling whereas, on the other hand, Shubman Gill kept on going made his fifty and added valuable runs to the total of his team.
Titan’s fielding wasn’t up to the mark as they misfield some shots that ended up being four and dropped catches missed run-outs chances which eventually lead the Giants to put up a total of 144 runs for the loss of four wickets.
Now it was time for the Second Innings, Lucknow Super Giants to chase down the total put up by the Titans.
As the openers came out to bat they were in good form by hitting some boundaries, soon enough while Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore took an unbelievable catch of Quinton De Kock. Soon enough KL Rahul lost his wicket to Mohammad Shami. Giants batsmen weren’t able to score runs in front of the Titans bowlers. Deepak Hooda tried hard to score runs, wasn’t long as he lost his wicket too. There was mind-blowing stumping done by Wriddhiman Shah in taking two of the important wickets.
Rashid Khan was seen in enormous form as his bowling figures of four wickets conceiving only 24 runs made the Giants all out at only 82 runs.
Gujarat Titans won by a huge margin of 62 runs which had added not only two valuable points but also a good increase in the net run rate.

In the end, Shubman Gill of Gujarat Titans won the Man Of The Match award for his knock of 63 runs.
