Ravi Shastri

The recently concluded Champions Trophy went almost well for team India, except for the finals where there was a sudden and shocking downfall in their performance. In such a case, the newly appointed head coach, Ravi Shastri will have the responsibility of getting the team ready for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2019.

Looking at the team, Indian pace attack consists of quality players at present. Players like Ishant Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah have enough potential to perform well overseas irrespective of the format. And now, the new bowling coach Zaheer Khan will add his experience to the players. This combination can result in the best bowling department in the near future. However, India needs to worry about their spin bowling as R Ashwin seems to be losing his magic along with Ravindra Jadeja which will be a thing to note for coach Ravi Shastri.

Next concern for the coach is the number 4 slot. While Yuvraj Singh made only 105 runs in four innings in the Champions Trophy, and it is almost clear that he has no more place in the ODI format for a couple of time. Also, MS Dhoni’s place in the team will also be a thought that will run at least once in his mind.
