Meanwhile the former chief selector of India, Dilip Vengsarkar has come up with some bold and unique statement. When asked about the number 4 slot he added, “There are a lot of them who are good enough. KL Rahul or Ajinkya Rahane is good, then there is Mayank Agarwal who is so well in Australia I’m surprised that he is not around, ”
He felt that this Indian team has a better chance to be in the top 4 or can win this tournament as India has the best bowling options with them. He further added, “When India did badly, it was the last 10 overs where we were not able to compete with the batsmen. Now, with Bumrah and others, it is so strong,”
Dilip Vengsarkar was the member of world cup winning squad of 1983. He also played 116 Tests and 129 ODIs for India.
