Yesterday, the World Cup got the two teams that will be playing in the World Cup from group A.

Today there were two knockout matches to be played to determine the remaining two teams from group B.

Ireland vs. the West Indies

The West Indies won the toss and elected to bat first.

Kyle Mayera and Johnson Charles opened the innings for the WI.

They were not able to give a great start to the team, and in the first five overs, they both lost their wickets.

After the openers headed back to the pavilion, the WI were in great trouble.

Brandon King, handling the situation alone, played a knock of 62 runs.

By the knock of Brandon, they put up a total of 146/5.

Paul Stirling and Andy Balbirnie opened the innings for Ireland.

They both gave a firing start to their team by smashing great boundaries.

As when Andy lost his wicket to Akela Hosein.

Paul and Lorcan kept on going as Paul completed his half-century as well.

With the help of their top order, IRE marked a great victory.

Their victory eliminated the two-time champion team from the World Cup.

With this win, IRE is now placed in Group 1 of the World Cup.

Zimbabwe v/s Scotland

Scotland won the toss and elected to bat first.

George Munsey and Michael Jones opened the innings for SCOT.

SCOT lost their first wicket in the first over itself.

After the first wicket went down, it wasn’t late enough when they lost their second wicket as well.

By the knock of George for 54 runs, Scotland achieved a total of 132/6.

Regis Chakabva and Craig Ervine opened the innings for ZIM.

ZIM lost their first two wickets in the first two overs.

It was hard for them to achieve the total.

The knocks by Craig and Sikandar Raza of 58 and 40 runs saved
them from losing the match.

With the finishing shot by Ryan, they won the match and stepped into the next stage of the World Cup.

ZIM will be placed in Group 2 of the World Cup.
