The Indian selection committee chairman, MSK Prasad has confronted the media and said that” No I don’t think we are looking at IPL showing”.

People were in a huge dilemma that whether the IPL performance of the individual effect the selection process or not. Earlier, Virat Kohli addressed the media and said the same thing that IPL will not affect the selection for the world cup but there were no official comments from the selection committee. But now the selection committee finally addressed the media and said that we are quite clear about selection procedure.

Moreover, the current Indian opener Rohit Sharma also said that” I feel that IPL shouldn’t be the criteria for team selection. You can’t select a team for the 50 over format over a 20 over format. He feels that it’s hard for a batsman to be judged on the basis of t20 performances. As in a 50 over game, a player has more time to think about the situation and then execute his strategies.

As we all know that it is going to be very interesting to see that who will be picked in a 15 men squad for the World Cup 2019. This will be announced on 15th April. Virat Kohli, who will be the skipper of the Indian team will have some conversation with the coach and the selection committee regarding the selection of the players.

The debate for Number 4 slot is still on. Even the strangest comment came from former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly who believes that Cheteshwar Pujara could also be considered for the selection. Although the former Indian opening batsman Aakash Chopra backed Rayudu.

Not only this, it will be interesting to see whether Vijay Shankar gets a chance or not? which two spinners India will have in their final line up? Can Umesh Yadav make it to the world cup?
More mouths will have more talks. All lies in the hands of the selection committee, coach and the captain.
