Yashasvi Jaiswal of RR hit the fastest half-century in the history of the IPL in today’s match against KKR.

The 56th match of the IPL was going to be played between the Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders.

RR was looking for a victory after losing three consecutive matches against MI, GT, and SRH.

KKR, after winning the last two matches against SRH and PBKS, will be looking for another win.

Match Details

The 56th match was going to be played in Eden Gardens, the hometown of KKR.

The Rajasthan Royals won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) innings

Jason Roy and Rahmanullah Gurbaz opened the inning for KKR.

They both gave a slow start to their teams, as when Trent Boult took the wicket of Jason.

After taking the wicket of Jason in the next over, Boult took the wicket of Gurbaz.

Trent Boult is known for taking wickets in the powerful as he does his job.

Yuzvendra Chahal in the middle overs did an outstanding job, taking four wickets in his four overs.

His outstanding bowling almost made KKR pushback.

While the knock by Venkatesh Iyer of 57 runs took them to a total of 149/8.

With his four wickets, Chahal also became the leading wicket-taker in the history of IPL.

He surpassed the record of Dwayne Bravo and also became the leading wicket-taker of the IPL season 2023.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) innings

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler opened the inning for RR.

Yashasvi started to charge with the first ball itself.

In the first over against Nitish Rana, he scored 26 runs.

In the next over, Jos Buttler got run out, which was a big blow for the RR side.

Irrespective of Jos’s wicket, Yashasvi kept on going and scoring runs.

He took only 13 deliveries to complete his half-century, which was the fastest half-century in the history of the IPL.

He hit six fours and three massive sixes as he broke the old record of KL Rahul, who took 14 deliveries.

As the match went on, Sanju also hit some great shots around the ground.

The knock of 98 runs by Jaiswal and 48 runs by Sanju Samson made RR win the match.

Two records were broken in this match, as Chahal became the leading wicket-taker in the history of the IPL and Jaiswal hit the fastest half-century.
