Yorker storm by Starc powers Delhi Capitals (DC) to victory in IPL 2025’s first Super Over clash.

Mitchell Starc proved to everyone why he is worth all the money franchise owners put into buying him.

From a state where the Delhi Capitals almost lost the match, he brought them back into the game.

And in the 20th over, he defended nine runs by bowling outstanding yorkers and reverse swing.

Then the game went on to the power-play, and despite conceding a white line no-ball, with his amazing deliveries, he managed to stop the RR team at a score of just 11 runs.

Match Details

The 32nd match of the IPL was all set to be played in Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi, between Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals.

Sanju Samson won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Delhi Capitals Innings

Jake Fraser-McGurk and Abishek Porel opened the innings, and Jofra Archer, not letting them settle down, took Jake’s wicket.

In the next over, the fielders ran out Karun, the last match’s hero, and KL Rahul came in to bat.

He and Abishek handled the innings for a while and built up a short partnership, stabilizing the DC innings.

After that, the ending knocks by Tristan Stubbs and Axar Patel added runs to the total.

With the great performance in the end, DC made up a total of 188 runs for the loss of five wickets.

Rajasthan Royals Innings

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson opened the innings and started making full use of the power-play.

They both were taking RR towards an easy victory when Sanju retired.

Yashasvi completed his half-century on the other end but lost his wicket as well.

Nitish Rana managed to add runs in between and bring his team closer to victory, completing his half-century as well.

Mitchell Starc took his wicket and bowled perfect yorkers in the 18th over.

Then, in the last over, RR needed nine runs to win the match. Starc’s tremendous bowling defended the total and took the match into the power-play.

Power play

In the power-play, RR, batting first, made a total of just 11 runs and lost their wickets as well.

Delhi Capitals, on the other hand, chased down the total in just 4 balls and won the match.
