Accommodations Company Airbnb is buying Trooly, a California-based startup founded by three Indian entrepreneurs in 2014 with an idea to protect its users from any misconduct and from fraudulent people. However, Trooly was founded by three young minds, Savi Baveja, Anish Das Sarma and Nilesh Dalvi in 2014. Initially, Baveja, took charge as company’s CEO, Sarma, was the Chief Technology Officer of the company and Dalvi was holding position of Trooly’s Chief Science Officer. Apart from this, they agreed to the acquisition news with Fortune Magazine but didn’t disclose the amount.

One of the spokesperson from Airbnb mentioned that “We look forward to welcoming the Trooly team to Airbnb in the coming weeks, we’ll continue working together to better facilitate trust between strangers on, off and across the platform supporting Airbnb’s overall strategy to create a world where anyone can belong anywhere”.

Trooly deal with the public and permissible digital footprints to understand and predict the trustworthiness of individuals and businesses. It needs minimum identity information as input to identify the trustworthiness of a person. Airbnb is using their services since 2015 and the company had raised a total ₹64 Crore ($10 million) in funding in 2016.
