Amazon India has further pumped in ₹200 crores ($32 million) in its logistics arm, Amazon Transportation Services. This is done in order to create a one-brand eCommerce ecosystem in India. Flipkart too has its own logistics arm named as eKart. Earlier in September 2016, Amazon had invested ₹67 crores in the same vertical. According to the documents available with registrar of companies, the latest funds have been infused by Amazon Corporate Holdings Singapore and Amazon Malaysia.

Commenting on the development, one of the spokespersons from Amazon India stated that India remains one of the key focus for global tech and eCommerce giant and the company is looking to provide best shopping experience to people staying even in the most remote areas. With investment in eCommerce, payments and logistics, Amazon is looking to create a seamless experience which will increase reliability and trust among the customers.

Amazon had launched the logistics arm in March 2015 to take on the homegrown rival Flipkart.
