Online travel firm MakeMyTrip, has announced the resignation of president Ashish Kashyap. He will remain with the firm till the end of this month.

Ashish Kashyap had joined MakeMyTrip as a president earlier this year, after the merger of Ibibo and MakeMyTrip. The company has not disclosed the reasons for Kashyap’s exit.

MakeMyTrip has issued a statement regarding this matter. The statement reads:

“MakeMyTrip (India) Pvt Limited and Ibibo Group Pvt. Ltd have entered into a separation agreement with Kashyap. This agreement, provides among other things, final settlement of dues and benefits to Mr Kashyap and certain obligations on Kashyap, including Non-Solicitation and Non-Competition which shall continue until 30 September 2019.”

Reports suggests that the issues related to integration and different working styles could be the possible reasons for his departure from the company after such short term.

In a statement, Ashish Kashyap said,

The merger with MakeMyTrip this year is one of my proudest moments, and I look forward to seeing their continued success. At the same time, I am extremely excited to be spending more of my time creating new opportunities.

Deep Karla, group chairman and CEO of MakeMyTrip, said,

Ashish has made immense contribution in bringing the MakeMyTrip-Ibibo deal to fruition and setting a strong foundation for the future success of the combined group.

Last year, in October, MakeMyTrip acquired Ibibo, making it the largest online travel company in India. The deal had secured Competition Commission of India’s approval in January this year.
