BookMyShow, one of the largest online entertainment ticketing platform in India, has today acquired Nfusion — an on-demand audio and video platform. The financial details about the all-cash deal has not been disclosed.
With this acquisition, BookMyShow will now leverage Nfusion’s tech stack to build its audio entertainment vertical. BookMyShow forayed into audio entertainment with Jukebox, which offers free music downloads through music credits.

BookMyShow has been looking to widen its offering to include curation and selection of music and audio content and Nfusion will form the technology backbone for the new business line.
Nfusion has a scalable tech solutions, which will be helpful for the ticketing platform, and especially the CMS which is said to be key to BookMyShow’s vision as far as audio entertainment goes.
The startup was founded in 2009 by Shoaib GM Khan, Sivagurunathan S and Prabhakar Reddy as a high definition video-on-demand platform.
As part of the deal, Shoaib and Sivagurunathan will join BookMyShow with Shoaib heading Nfusion while Sivagurunathan will lead the architecture and development operation teams at BookMyShow.
Aditya Kuber, Associate VP – Audio Entertainment at BookMyShow said that everything that the company offers under audio entertainment will be under Jukebox. Kuber will be driving the audio initiative for the company through partnerships with music labels and distributors, creating exclusive audio content for BookMyShow users.
Prior to Nfusion, BookMyShow had recently acquired Hyderabad based online movie ticketing platform MastiTickets, and Mumbai based local food and restaurant recommendation engine Burrp.
